Contribution Rules

Contributions are not deductible for federal income tax purposes. Federal election law requires political committees to use their best efforts to report the name, mailing address, occupation and employer for individuals who contribute. Individuals can contribute $575.00 for the Primary Election and $575.00 for the General Election not to exceed $1,150 during an election cycle. Small Donor Committee’s can contribute up to $12,250 ($6,125 to the Primary Election; $6,125 to the General Election) during an election cycle. A couple may contribute individually totaling $1,150 per person during the election cycle. Federal election law prohibits contributions from the general treasury funds of a corporation, labor organization, or national bank, from any person contributing another’s funds, from a federal government contractor or from a foreign national who lacks permanent resident status.
